We believe the way we work has the potential to restore our relationship with ourselves and the planet—and we’re on a mission to prove it. Profit is not one of our measures of success, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t generating value. We are passionate about demonstrating the impact on people and our planet when we work in a restorative model.

Our measures of success


Impact on Human Flourishing

We measure the impact on human flourishing of working in a restorative model by measuring our Founders’ responses to items that measure the five pillars of our Restorative Model for Work and the 14 items in our Restorative Impact Question Set, in alignment with the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health Flourishing Measure.

We measure some of the most basic of human experiences—physical, cognitive, and emotional health, happiness, quality of sleep, healthy diet and time for rest, leisure time and time spent in nature—things that are often put aside in pursuit of success and a career in non-restorative models of work. Things that are often numbed, things we don’t have time for, things that we are told get in the way of work.


Impact on the Planet

We measure the impact on the planet of working in a restorative model in alignment with the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDRs).

We also measure the impact that a deepening relationship with the planet has on human flourishing, and our ability to regenerate and sustain life on our planet through a restorative model for work.

We’ve declared Earth our only shareholder, in alignment with Patagonia’s paradigm-shifting model.


Impact of Restorative Work

We measure the ability of our Founders to achieve global impact by working in a restorative model versus the impact they were able to achieve in non-restorative models of work.

We believe the restorative model of work enables more innovation and advancements to end human suffering than working in non-restorative models—and we’re on a mission to prove it.

We believe that each of us has something truly unique to offer the world—and that it’s impossible for a for-profit company to define your purpose. It has to come from within, and it takes time to discover. What you have been paid for over your career, may not be what you are passionate about.

We’re Earth’s first distributed organization building the restorative era of work and creating the world’s most engaged workforce for good. We believe that the era of optimizing humans and the planet for profit has ended. The things that get in the way of people doing their life’s work are the systems and structures put in place in organizations to control, monitor, measure, and optimize the output of humans. The mushroom chair eliminates all of them. We are at pre-seed funding stage, working to expand beyond our first Founders in 2024.
